requirements

Requires a version of the Sun Java Standard Edition Runtime Environment to be installed on the host machine before Prozima is installed. At least version 6 of the JRE is required. The latest version for your platform can be downloaded from here.

known issues

This early release version of Prozima has several issues and disabled features. Please do not report bugs which are already listed here as issues.

disabled/unimplemented features:

  • Remote connections are disabled. Can only access projects and resources stored locally.
  • Cost: Cost rules cannot be defined for resources. Cost information not displayed in interface.
  • Printing enabled for some but not all tabs.
  • Help documentation contains no valid information.
  • Change history not recorded and cannot be examined.
  • Critical path items not highlighted in dialogs and on Gantt chart.
  • MS Project XML export not implemented.
  • WBS folding not possible in Gantt chart.
  • User's task tracking is disabled.

bugs:

  • Calculated schedule is sub-optimal under some circumstances. Work is not always distributed in the best ratio when multiple Resources are assigned to the same Activity.
  • Project tab. Table looses cell selection when project is updated.
  • Activities tab. Cumulative effort of Milestones in the table is not updated when predecessor Activities are modified.

recent changes

Several bugs have been fixed since the last release. These include:

  • Icon highlights activities and milestones which are on the critical path of a schedule.
  • Icon highlights activities and milestones which cannot be scheduled due to unavailable resources or impossible constraints.
  • Printing and preview support added to Activity, Project and Resource tabs.
  • Layout of lists, tables and tabs improved. Table columns now allocated a better width.

security

This version has no built-in security features and does not attempt to encrypt any stored or sent data. Summary of security relevant information:

  • Saved project and resource data is stored in unencrypted XML files in the user's home directory.
  • Network communications between instances of the Prozima application are not encrypted. Note: networking is disabled in this version.
  • User options and the names of the automatically saved project and resource files are stored in the Windows registry. On Linux and Solaris machines, this data is stored in the user's home directory.
